Frequently Asked Questions

What time is check in/out? Can I come early or late, or stay late?

Check in is officially 2pm or later and check out by 11am.  There’s no pressure to meet with someone, at some time somewhere for the key exchange. You are sent the door lock activation code for entry at your convenience. You let yourself in at your leisure. (How cool is that?)

Whether someone can come early, or stay late is booking driven, (or cleaning). We want you to have a wonderful time, so (if possible) we would allow it.  But check first, staff needs time to clean and reset before the next guests. Holiday Season is particularly packed.

How can I pay? What about last-minute bookings?

Payment Option A: Pay in full when making your reservation.

Payment Option A: Pay $100 Security Deposit with the reservation, and the balance two weeks prior to the check in date (30 days prior for holidays).

We accept the following forms of payment:  Credit Card, Cash, Paypal, Money Order, or Cashiers Check.  (Geez, how many choices you need?)  Last minute bookings are possible, if space is available. Once electronic credit card payment is made, the door lock activation code is sent. It’s about that simple.

What in Kitchen, Bath and Bedding is provided?

Each kitchen has the items you need to prepare large or small meals, from strainers and baking dishes to clean microwaves and an empty cool refrigerators.  Toilet paper, paper towels, all cleaning supplies are provided.

We provide bed sheets and towels at an additional cost.  If Linen Service is requested, sheets and towels (Bath, Hand & Face) are provided. Each bed always has a mattress cover, clean blanket, pillow and comforter. Extra blankets are in the closets.

Directions? Will my cell work?

Directions to your specific cabin are sent after the booking is transacted. For a general map to Wrightwood, click here. (Place the link the map and directions page here). GPS users the zip is 92397. And yes, cell phones work almost the entire way to town, and in town. In the forest, it’s hit and miss. Mostly miss.

How far are you from town (the village)?

Both the All Pine Inn and Snow Bungalow are a block from the village.  The Getaway Chalet is about downhill ½ mile to the village, but uphill on the way back.

Where is the closest airport?

Ontario International Airport is approximately a 40 minute drive.

What services are in Wrightwood? Is there a Laundromat?

Small town stores, plus a Jensen’s grocery store are in the village. It is a smaller market with a great selection of meat and wine, (and a good deli counter for sandwiches and such!).  On weekends and Holidays they often slow cook chicken, ribs and sausages out front, (the aroma will kill you on pass bye). Drug store (Rite Aid) is about a 10 minute drive, where there is also a Stater Brothers market.  Both the All Pine Inn and Snow Bungalow have a clothes washer and dryer with detergents. If staying at the Getaway Chalet, there is a laundromat in Phelan.

Is there a fireplace?  What does it run on?

If you want a fire in the fireplace, we ask that you burn the Duraflame type logs.  They make for easy clean up and are very easy to start.  The Getaway Chalet has a backyard fire ring on the deck that uses most cut woods. 3 & 4 bedroom homes have propane BBQ’s and tools for your use. 2 bedroom rentals have briquette BBQ’s.

Do you allow pets?

Although we love pets, we do not allow them to stay on the property.

Will it snow when I'm there?  Do we need chains?

Snowfall in the Southern California can never be guaranteed. It snowed as we trick or treated a decade ago, and as late the end of May (for Memorial Day BBQ’s)!  With that said, the January and February normally have the most snowfall.   Mt. High normally opens by Thanksgiving Day.  Skiing/snowboarding normally runs into April or longer, whether it’s fresh snow or man made. If it’s snowing, chains most likely will be required and enforced by the police. You need tire chains to drive, even four wheelers. They are easy to put on, when done right. Townsfolk make an easy buck helping travelers from roadside pullouts. Snowplows clear the hi-way fast, and the town roads on lower streets quickly. It takes longer to dig out from some streets by nature, like if you are staying at the Getaway Chalet.  The All Pine Inn and Snow Bungalow are closer to town.

What are your policies/rules? Do I have to sign a rental agreement?

When you make a reservation, you will receive a copy of: your reservation confirmation, basic house rules, general house information, and a map.   You sign and return the reservation form, so that we know you got the policies and we agree on the reservation dates, the number of people and cars. The total cost broken down, and a credit card number (used in case of damage exceeding the $100 security deposit is on file).  An example of that form can be seen below:
